Rockdale weddings work differently to every other area we service, and it comes down to geography. The reception venues at Brighton-Le-Sands sit directly on the water, which means the beach photographs and the reception are the same location rather than two legs of the day.
That removes a whole trip and changes the timing instead. There is no dash from a photo location to the venue before sunset, because the sunset happens outside the door. What matters is arriving at the venue early enough to use the light along Grand Parade before guests start gathering, usually an hour before the reception is due to start.
The church runs are short too. St Joseph’s at Rockdale, St Francis Xavier at Arncliffe and the Bexley churches all sit within ten minutes of the waterfront. The one thing to watch is the Princes Highway around six, when airport traffic builds and a five minute run becomes fifteen.
